The Cottage is set in its own grounds down a short tree lined gated drive past the main house. As you arrive you cross over the first stream with its small waterfall to your left and then you come into the garden. Opposite the cottage is a small barn to store bikes or roof boxes, (prior arrangement).
In the garden is a swing chair, picnic table and bench, BBQ and firepit. Nestled to the side of the cottage is our stunning decking area and garden cabin “The Hive”. This makes alfresco living possible all year round.
The garden is fenced and gated, but through the gate is the field, sometimes home to our miniature Shetland ponies, and sometimes you can find them where they live in the surrounding fields. You are free to explore and enjoy the wild flowers and streams. The two streams wind their way down the field meeting at the bottom and if you explore up one of the streams you might find the secret Buddha! It’s the perfect place for children to explore and have some real adventures. Why not make a den or roast some marshmallows over a camp fire.
Whatever the season you will enjoy some stunning sunrises and sunsets, not to mention the dark night skies and all the stars. On a hot sunny day their is nothing better than relaxing in the garden or down by the stream. But it is as lovely on a cold crisp snow covered winters day. A brisk walk or a bit of sledging knowing a warm fire is waiting you back at the cottage.
If you’re lucky you may even see some of our wild visitors. Summer sees the swallows coming to roost in the barns, as well as all the usual wild birds. But keep your eyes pealed and you might see a barn or tawny owl in the trees, hawks and buzzards. The heron often stops of at the stream to see what he can catch. Mr Fox likes to come and see whats going on and you might see a Badger too if you set off at dawn or dusk.
